
Shirley Thomas, Ph. D., received her doctoral degree in psychology from the University of Colorado in 1971. Dr. Thomas specializes in divorce counseling, mediation, and child and family evaluation. She is the author of Parents Are Forever, a guide to successful parenting, Divorced But Still My Parents, a book for children, and Two Happy Homes, a book for coparents who re-couple after separation.
Dr. Thomas has been in independent practice in child and family psychology in Longmont, Colorado, since 1975. She regularly consults with parents and other professionals about the problems facing families after divorce. In addition to her books and seminars on divorce education, Dr. Thomas provides therapy for children, teens, and adults. She frequently serves as a court-appointed evaluator or special advocate for children. Her latest interest is in developing strategies for working successfully in the role of parenting coordinator for moms and dads in high conflict after separation.
